The Radiological Center of AGAPLESION BETHANIEN KRANKENHAUS HEIDELBERG was the first medical center in Germany to establish a dual-source computer tomography of the latest generation - the Siemens SOMATOM Force. This high-end device is a diagnostic tool for almost any radiological examination. The short examination time required and the significantly reduced contrast agent dose enables in particular every sensitive group of patients the access to very gentle diagnostics.

The most important peculiarity of CT Siemens SOMATOM Force is the non-invasive imaging of the heart, especially of the coronary arteries, the so-called cardio-CT diagnostics. The use of technical innovations, such as the dual-tube and detector-technology (dual-source) and the 4-dimensional display, helps to achieve a previously unknown image quality. The functions of the heart and the blood flow can be measured. In addition, the changes of the smallest vessels can be displayed in detail. Patients with a higher heart rate, arrhythmia, pacemaker, stents and bypasses can be examined more precociously and with a better result.

Due to this modern diagnostic a heart catheter examination may be avoid because it bares the well-known corresponding risks.
